Trinity Learning Center
Information and Registration Sheet
For
Fall 2011
Mission Statement:
We are a caring, Christian community that provides
learning through play in a structured environment while nurturing the
child’s uniqueness and positive self-image.
Learning Philosophy:
We believe that through a partnership with the
parents, children, and teachers, Trinity Learning Center provides a
wonderful opportunity for early childhood learning and development. At
three and four years old, the children are at an age of reaching out to
discover the world around them. Some children run into that new world.
Some are hesitant. Our role in your child’s development is providing a
safe environment for your child to discover and learn as they venture
into that new world at their own pace. In our program, they learn and
discover at their own pace, which will positively affirm their
self-esteem and self-image.
We view play as the means in which the child can
begin to develop a positive attitude about learning and discovery. The
children are surrounded with other children while at play, so they learn
social skills, such as sharing, personal respect and space, and conflict
management. They also read books, have music lessons, go to the chapel,
experience learning centers, engage in physical activities, perform show
and tell, and make crafts. In all their activities there are specific
learning objectives, which are always provided in a nurturing and
encouraging environment.
Trinity Learning Center affirms each child as a
child of God. Through our program, we share our faith by nurturing and
caring for the children and accenting our lessons with Biblical examples
and prayer time.
Learning Objectives
Our overall learning objectives are to provide
opportunities for your child to develop socially, academically, and
spiritually.
Your child will be in an environment where he or
she will practice taking turns, respecting others, caring for
possessions, and, if needed, will be encouraged to overcome the natural
shyness and fear of social environments. The play and learning
situations present developmental opportunities for your child to grow
within a nurturing and caring environment.
In a non-threatening environment, every child is
encouraged to read, count, talk in front of groups, classify and sort
objects, and write. We present the opportunities for your child’s
social, academic, and spiritual development, while allowing your child
to grow at a pace that is comfortable and affirming.
As a Christian learning center, we present
opportunities for your child to become familiar with Biblical Stories
and the love that Jesus Christ has shared with us. We present the
Christian faith at the children’s level by introducing them to prayer,
Christian songs, reading Bible Stories, and weekly Chapel visits with
the Pastor. We teach the basis of our faith with the example of love
that we find in Jesus Christ.
Kindergarten Readiness Objectives
Included in our curriculum are the kindergarten
readiness expectations of the public elementary schools. They are:
- A child will write his/her first name with the
first letter capitalized and the rest of the letters in lower case.
- A child will recognize the colors of red,
blue, yellow, green, orange, purple, brown, black, white, grey, and
